Natural Progesterone Cream dosage depends on your current hormonal and menstrual status. The following are general recommendations that may need to be modified for your specific situation:

Dosage:  If using the 8 oz. Natural Progesterone Cream Pump, each push of the pump is 10 mg. of Natural Progesterone. The normal dosage is 20 mg. of Natural Progesterone per day, therefore, two pumps equal a normal daily dosage. For more severe cases, three pumps or 30 mg. is needed.  If using Natural Progesterone Cream in the jar, use 1/4-1/2 teaspoon (20-30 mgs.) per day.

Location of Application:  Apply Natural Progesterone Cream to parts of your body where it is easily absorbed such as on the forearms, behind the knees, and abdomen (alternate sides). Do not apply Natural Progesterone Cream to the same area on consecutive days.

Menstrual Status:

  • Women still in their reproductive years: Still ovulating
Women who are still ovulating usually need Natural Progesterone Cream because of PMS, irregular periods, and painful cramping with periods.

Begin using Natural Progesterone Cream after you have ovulated. Ovulation usually occurs about  10 to 12 days after your period begins. Count the day your period begins as day one.  Begin using Natural Progesterone Cream on day 12 after your period. Do not use Natural Progesterone Cream on days 1 to 11.  Apply a daily dosage from days 12 to 26.

  • Women who are Perimenopausal:
Perimenopause is a transition period that precedes menopause.  It can begin as early as your 30’s, 40’s, and early 50’s. Common symptoms are: hot flashes, irregular periods, heavy bleeding, loss of libido, mood swings, weight gain, headaches, and trouble getting and staying asleep.

Begin using Natural Progesterone Cream on day 7 after your period.  Count the day your period begins as day 1.   Do not use Natural Progesterone Cream on days 1 to 6.  Apply a daily dosage on days 7 to 27.

  • Women who are Menopausal:
Menopause is the stoppage of your menstrual period, usually in your early 50’s.  Symptoms vary depending on the individual. Common menopausal symptoms are: hot flashes, night sweats, irregular periods, heavy periods, loss of libido, and vaginal dryness.

Since you are menopausal and do not have a menstrual cycle, choose a calendar day (e.g. the first day of the month) as day one.  Apply a daily dosage of Natural Progesterone Cream (20 mg.) on days 1 to 25.  On days 25 to 30 (or 31), give your body a rest and do not apply Natural Progesterone Cream during this period.

  • Women with severe osteoporosis:
If you are experiencing severe osteoporosis, you are most likely Post Menopausal.  Therefore, choose a calendar day (e.g., the first day of the month) as day 1.  Apply a daily dosage of 20-30 mgs. of  Natural Progesterone Cream.  On days 25 to 30 (or 31), give your body a rest and do not apply Natural Progesterone Cream.
